"THE FINEST QUALITY AVAILABLE IN FISHING FLAGS"

Covid-19 Changes

Covid-19 has affected everyone in so many ways, including us here at Sundot Marine. Many of the retail stores that we supply with our Fish Flags, have had to close their doors temporarily. A lot of our suppliers (for our hats, t-shirts, screen printing, ect) have also had to close their warehouses, temporarily adjust opening hours and shipping policies, and think of new ways to distribute their products.

At the beginning of March, we shifted our Flag production to making Facemasks. What started out as a gift for a few friends who worked in the Emergency Room of Hilo Medical Center on the Big Island of Hawai'i, turned into Fish Flag Facemasks that are now being shipped around the world. Lucky for us, the manufacturing of Facemasks has helped to keep our business afloat during these trying times.

For the first few months we donated hundreds of masks to Frontline Workers, including doctors, nurses, hospital staff, firemen, police officers and local food distribution companies. As most Frontline Workers become equipped with sufficient PPE equipment, we are now shifting our efforts slightly to donate a percentage of Facemask sales to these people in our community. We are supporting other local, small businesses which we hope will help keep some of our Hawai'i companies thriving for as long as possible.

Another shift we have made is to offer Curbside Pickup. Moving our company base to O'ahu has allowed us to reach a broader customer base here in Hawai'i and we are grateful to be given this opportunity. Customers can order online and select "Curbside Pickup" at checkout, and then schedule a convenient time to drive by our office to pick up their order. We are flexible with times, and even open during the weekends for our customers to stop by!

We are doing everything we can to ensure your safety during production, manufacturing, packaging and distribution of our products. Our staff use facemasks whenever we leave our place of residence. This includes trips to the grocery store, post office, and anywhere we come in direct contact with people who are not in our immediate family.

Sundot Marine appreciates each and every one of our customers and aims to treat them all like family. In 2019 we added to our mission statement, "Once you become a part of the Sundot 'Ohana, you're part of our family for life." We stand by this statement now more than ever. Sundot Marine is grateful for our global community of fishermen, fisherwomen, and the keiki who will grow up to be our future lawai'a (fishermen). Mahalo for your support.
