A few weeks ago a lovely lady named Ann Drost, gave us a call to place an order for a few of our Fish Flags. We got to talking story and learned a whole lot about an amazing company in Costa Rica called Maverick Sportfishing. A company that builds custom yachts, offers fishing charters, books tours and outdoor adventures and on June 14th celebrated the Grand Opening of their New Maverick Sportfishing Center. We are beyond stoked to have our Sun Dot products in their store and our Fish Flags flying on their fleets.
Located at the Los Sueños Resort and Marina (arguably one of the world's most beautiful marinas) Maverick Sportfishing is committed to having the most professional charter boats with the best equipment and crews in all of Costa Rica. The harbor has a breathtaking backdrop and is often described as the "Billfish Capital of The World".

The Maverick Fleet is known as "The Fly Boats of Los Suenos" and include the Spanish Fly, Sea Fly, Geaux Fly, Open Fly, Pacific Fly and the Super Fly. They test their boats and equipment over 1,000 days a year in combined hours of the Maverick fleet.
We were first introduced to Maverick last year when a local Kona girl, Brittany McCurdy, spent time fishing the Los Sueños Triple Crown on the first all-girls team sponsored by Costa Sunglasses. Brittany was part of the "Reinas De Costa" aka the "Queens of Costa" team that fished on the Geaux Fly. We loved the look of the boats, the good vibes of the girls on board and not to mention the epic images that kept coming from the picture-perfect waters off Costa Rica.

The crews on the Maverick Boats have been fishing the calm Pacific coast of Costa Rica since they were teenagers, and guarantee their guests an unparalleled sportfishing experience.
Although we have only spoken to the Maverick Ohana over the phone, we can feel a sense of Aloha all the way across the ocean, and we can't wait to experience one of their epic charters in the near future.
Fishing in Los Sueños has definitely been added to our bucket list.

The new Maverick Sportfishing Center at Los Sueños Resort and Marina in Herradura Costa Rica, features information about their custom made Maverick Yachts and is an outlet for fishermen, women and families wanting to charter the Maverick Fly Boats. It looked like everybody had a great time at the Grand Opening. The kids all dressed up in matching pink and blue Marlin shirts sure looked like it was a hit and we are so thankful that the keiki on that side of the world can dress up in our Sun Dot Marine clothing!
