My most amazing fishing adventure was when I went steelhead fishing for the first time on the Salmon River in Washington with my boyfriend Nate Tsao. It was a pretty crisp morning and we woke up early to get to the river before sunrise. I slipped into my waders (which I am not use to here in Hawaii) and began our journey through the evergreen trees in search of the Salmon River.

I occasionally shoreline fish and troll from OC1s and OC2s. I enjoy the occasional spearfishing session too. I'm always on the water either paddling, surfing, bodysurfing or sailing so fishing is just a bonus activity for me.

Amy Firzgerald loves fishing because, "it is a way to feed my family with a known and sustainable food source. I hardly ever go to the store and pay for meat, I have definitely become mostly pescatarian. It beats paying for farm meat that didn't live happy, wild, fulfilling lives before ending up on someones table".
